Glaciers 19U defeat Casper-Douglas

WYOMING – The Pinedale Glaciers’ 19U girls’ team topped off week two of its season with two victories against Casper-Douglas on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4-5.

The Glaciers hit the road for a busy weekend, beginning with back-to-back games against Sheridan. On Friday, Nov. 3, Pinedale tied Sheridan, 3-3. Sheridan won the rematch on Saturday morning, 5-1.

Regrouping, the Glaciers crushed Casper-Douglas, 9-0, on Saturday evening. Maintaining its momentum, Pinedale defeated Casper-Douglas, 6-3, on Sunday morning.

Sheridan

The first period set the tone for the remainder of the game, ending in a 2-2 stalemate. Anabella Fausett scored the two goals for the Glaciers, assisted by Ellie Jensen both times.

Pinedale won the second period, 1-0. Taya Ramirez shot in the goal for Pinedale, assisted by Cassandra Miller.

Sheridan responded in the third period with a goal to tie the game.

Aringtyn Huffman served as goalie for Pinedale and made 39 saves.

On Saturday morning, the first period ended in a scoreless deadlock. Sheridan outmaneuvered Pinedale, 3-1, in the second period. Ramirez scored for Pinedale off of a play by Fausett.

Sheridan won the third period, 2-0.

Huffman played goalie again and tallied 41 saves.

Casper-Douglas

The Glaciers annihilated the Oilers, 5-0, in an explosive first period. Fausett scored the first two goals, the first unassisted and the second assisted by Jensen.

Miller shot in the next goal off of a play by Erica Seehafer. Taking possession, Elizabeth Loveless scored Glacier goal no. 4, assisted by Miller and Fausett.

Seren Noble rounded out scoring in the first period with a goal off of a play by Loveless and Jensen.

Pinedale widened its lead in the second period, outscoring Casper-Douglas, 2-0. Fausett shot in the first goal, assisted by Seehafer. Maci Holland shot in the second goal, assisted by Loveless.

The Glaciers won the third period, 2-0. Jensen and Holland both scored goals, the first goal with an assist from Loveless.

Ramirez played goalie and totaled 16 saves.

On Sunday morning, Casper-Douglas outscored Pinedale, 1-0, in the first period.

Undaunted, Pinedale stepped up the pressure in the second period to tie the Oilers, 2-2. Miller and Fausett both scored goals with assists by Noble, Seehafer and Jensen.

Leaving it all on the ice in the third period, the Glaciers shot in four goals to nil from Casper-Douglas.

Jensen scored the first goal on a power play, assisted by Fausett. Miller shot in the second goal off of a play by Noble. Fausett scored the subsequent goal, assisted by Seehafer. Noble rounded out scoring with a goal and an assist from Miller.

Ramirez played goalie and posted 17 saves.

The Glaciers host Casper-Douglas on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7:15 p.m. and again on Sunday at 8 a.m.
