On Dec. 2, 2008, the Sublette County Commissioners met in an executive session with QEP (then Questar) representatives to discuss real estate, according to official meeting minutes. Thirty-year-old sewage sludge is sitting in Pinedale's sewer ponds at the Town Maintenance Shop on South Tyler Avenue. Recently, the stench of the sludge has become so powerful nearby residents say they cannot open their windows or enjoy being outside their homes. One couple even left town last weekend to escape the odor.
