MARBLETON — The newest doctor hired by the Sublette County Hospital District (SCHD) is already a familiar face around the Marbleton/Big Piney area where he began seeing patients on Feb. 5. Dr. Rex Wortham, a family practice provider with 38 years of experience, is “excited to be back in the area.”
Dr. Wortham explained his wife is a Physician’s Assistant from Big Piney and the pair have family in the area.
Wortham grew up in Riverton, graduated from Casper College with his Associate’s degree in Biology and attended the University of Wyoming, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Zoology. He went to medical school at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., and graduated in 1986. Wortham returned to Wyoming to complete his residency in Cheyenne at the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program.

Since then, Wortham has practiced medicine at several facilities across the Cowboy State, including in the Bridger Valley, Cheyenne and Douglas. He most recently worked in the Emergency Room at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center in Jerome, Idaho.

As a family practice doctor, Wortham cares for patients at every stage of life, providing services from well-baby checks and school and DOT physicals to geriatric care, and everything in between. In addition to his duties at the clinic, Dr. Wortham will also provide care to the residents of the Sublette Center.

The Marbleton/Big Piney Medical Clinic at 103 West 3rd St., in Big Piney, is open Monday through Friday, with extended hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
